Hunt: Showdown will be released this fall on PC.Way back in 2014, Crytek unveiled a new game called Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, a four-player co-op shooter in which players could hunt supernatural monsters in an 1880’s historical setting. In short, it went from a four-player co-op action shooter to the PvP monster hunting game you see today. These matches can last anywhere from 20-40 minutes, but the video above has condensed this particular session to around eight minutes.Īnnounced back in June 2014 by Crytek USA as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, the title underwent not only a name change but an entirely different direction under the current development team. This means not only will players have to survive monster attacks, but attacks from other players as well. Players will need to use a combination of "stealth maneuvering" and confrontation to reach their goal before the other bounty hunters. Not only that, but there are monsters other than massive spiders to contend with hiding in the shadows. In the video above, the creative and level design directors for Hunt: Showdown, Magnus Larbrant and Chris Auty, demonstrate the hunt for a monstrous spider in "a dark Louisiana swamp."īut there are four other teams of two after the same bounty. Today, the footage has been made available to the public. Crytek provided a pre-alpha gameplay demonstration for its PvP monster hunter, Hunt: Showdown, last week at E3.
